settlin in

This is a Chinese meal that our Chinese grandmother upstairs made me take home. I told her that it was OK and that I didn't want any, but she is force to be reconed with and I found myself eating tofu. We have great neighbors, the grandmother has taken it upon herself to teach Angie how to speak Chinese! hee hee. Reminds me of my Chinese days. We call her Ai Yi (eye- eee) I kind of think of her as hurricane Ai Yi.
School is going well, the university is buying me a new Dell computer to use in my office. I got to pick it out! Yes I am feeling very important, at least until I try to actually go into my office which is by the very loud internal engine combustion lab. note: asphixiation starts with drowsyness and headaches. I met my office mate today, actually he is in several of my classes. This morning (before we met) he told everyone before class that he found this textbook that he had (he didn't have his own) downstairs. I thought at the time that that was odd, but little did I know it was my textbook....Wait till I rifle through his items!
Our neighbor Timothy who is from nigeria (via NY) just brought me a Tecate Mexican beer. it was a nice gesture even though I don't really like beer. maybe I will put it in a bowl and leave it for the cats!
Here is a picture of Zeke and Angie on the bike, we have taken a lot of rides since getting here. Zeke usually gets bored and starts lifting up your shirt. Well we miss everyone, keep us on your prayers.

Starting out

The Move went really well, we had about 20 of the best people in the world helping us. Although uhaul (notice the little u) didn't come through at all. They didn't call back twice even though I had a reservation (bitter). But we went with Budget who rented us a truck that was bigger and turned out we needed it. there was this little incident of a washing machine dropping on my toe. (see http://wichitafalcon.blogspot.com/ for pictures) it is better now still no toe nail though.

We have been here a week almost to the minute. Last week, when we moved in, we couldn't find any bedding. We were lucky to find the air mattress. We had to use horse packing blankets. I used a plastic bag full of clothes for my pillow, Angie had some sort of packing pillow. (we are learning alot about packing). For dinner we roasted hot dogs over the stove using a stick I carved taken from the yard.
Been a good week, we have moved in mostly. played alot with Zeke and have taken many bike rides. We have met alot of our neighbors, they are really nice and have kids Zeke's age.

Right is a picture of "Golden boy" with a baby seat on the back. Zeke loves it, he likes to pinch me and lift my shirt up for everyone.
Here is a shot one week later of my foot, note: still no toenail. The Doc did a good job on it and gave me a lecture as well about open toed shoes.
